Hello, my name is Alberto. I am originally from Chile, but I currently live in Innsbruck, Austria.
My passion for cycling and nature has led me to explore wonderful places in my country. During those trips, I met many tourist who came to visit Chile, and from the first time, I felt a strong desire to help and advise them so they could make the most of their visit.
During my travels, I have had the opportunity to meet people from different parts of the world. One of my favorite phrases has always been: «You have to go to Chile and see…».
Over time, my recommendations extended to all of South America. Often, when talking with people who have visited or wish to visit South America, I encountered common comments about fear, insecurity, and chaos.
We know that South America can be dangerous and sometimes disorganized. I heard many stories like «Yes, I went and got robbed,» «I was scammed,» «I felt unsafe in certain places,» «The tour I booked didn’t show up,» or «The tour was not professional.» These comments saddened me, as I want people to have a good experience in my country and on the continent.
Knowing this problem and with my experience in Chile and South America, I decided to create the EL VOLCANO Project. This project aims to help tourists organize their trips in the most successful way possible, connecting them with local tourism projects with a sustainable focus that give back to the local community, with the mission of promoting community development.
Last but not least, there is a tips section that will help them organize and better enjoy their trips, based exclusively on personal experience.
